When building a home, cost savings can only be fully realized when they are incorporated at the project's conceptual design phase. This requires the assistance of our integrated team of professionals and our client's input. This proven approach ensures that the building is designed as one system rather than a collection of stand-alone systems. Working within our client's needs and budget, many green building measures can be incorporated which yield enormous short and long term benefits and savings.

Building "green" is an opportunity to use our resources more efficiently while creating healthier homes that are energy and cost efficient, ultimately improving our client's lives.

For instance, by using appropriately sized energy efficient heat and cooling system in conjunction with a thermally efficiently constructed home, the benefits are maximized. By installing high R-value insulation, considering the orientation of the house on the site and by using minimal glass on northern exposures we further create an optimal living environment. We also try to consider alternative energy sources such as photo-voltaic and solar hot water systems that are now readily available. These renewable energy sources are emerging as preferred technologies for the future.

Elliott Sage Design   Construction and Guildcrest Homes are proud to be ENERGY STAR for New Homes Participants. ENERGY STAR qualified homes meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency. You can be assured once your home is built and it meets the ENERGY STAR for New Homes specifications your home will be labelled ENERGY STAR qualified. ENERGY STAR qualified homes are approximately 30 percent more energy efficient than standard built homes and will have up to R-50 insulation and low maintenance construction.
